This course is an introduction to Desert and Rainforest Biomes. Users will learn about each type of desert as well as rainforest plants, animals and people.
Module 1
Our World: Desert Biomes
This course discusses the world’s desert biomes and is part of a series introducing the concept of biomes. The desert biome is characterized by barrenness and very little rainfall. There are four types of deserts around the world: arid, semi-arid, coastal, and cold. Plants and animals that live in deserts around the world will be discussed as well as the characteristics of each type of desert. .
Module 2
Our World: Rainforest Biomes
This course discusses the world’s rainforest biomes and is part of a series introducing the concept of biomes. The rainforest biome is the most diverse in the world and gives us 40% of the oxygen that we need to breathe. Users will learn about the plants, animals, and people that live in rainforests, specifically the Amazon rainforest and the Papua New Guinea rainforest.
