All employees who work in the federal jurisdiction require health and safety training that includes an overview of the Canada Labour Code and the Canada Occupational Health and Safety Regulations. In this overview course, you will become familiar with the rights and responsibilities of employers, managers and supervisors who act on behalf of the employer and employees, as well as the roles of health and safety committees and representatives. The course covers topics, such as workplace inspections, incident investigations, programs for ergonomics and violence prevention, and the protection of pregnant and nursing employees. This e-course will help you understand the required elements of an effective hazard prevention program. The course was developed by the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS).
