Module 1:
Festivals of Light
This module an introduction to festivals of lights around the world. Light is significant in cultures all over the world; for many, meaning the triumph of good over evil and light over dark. It is important for religious traditions and celebrations, and sometimes even tourist attractions. Users will learn about Diwali, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, as well as lantern festivals in Thailand and Vietnam.
Module 2:
Spring Celebrations
This module is an introduction to spring festivals celebrations that happen around the world each year. Different cultures honour the start of spring in different ways, from the changing of seasons and new year celebrations to important religious events. Users will learn about many celebrations, such as Nowruz, the Persian New year, Holi, an Indian festival of love and color, and Passover and Ramadan, important Jewish and Islamic holidays. Several celebrations relating to flowers and springtime will also be discussed.
