cybersecurity awareness month

October has been Cybersecurity Awareness Month since it was first launched by the National Cyber Security Alliance and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in 2004.

As a broad effort to help us all stay safe and secure online, we thought we’d share with you not only some of the history of Cybersecurity Awareness Month but also some of our great IT Security courses.

Upon its first launch in 2004, Cybersecurity Awareness Month was initially based around such simple tasks as ensuring you installed antivirus software twice a year. From such humble beginnings, by 2009, we saw Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano become the highest-ranking government official to launch Cybersecurity Awareness Month at an event in Washington, DC.

Fast forward to 2021, and we now all understand the importance of cybersecurity and its relevance in the workplace. That’s why we’ve created a great selection of courses to help take your IT security to the next level.

Our computer skills training courses teach fundamental business computer skills with a heavy focus on Cybersecurity, plus all the various threats to an organization’s IT infrastructure in today’s world. Phishing, ransomware attacks, and password and identity theft have become increasingly common in recent years. It is absolutely essential for an organization to train its employees in password, email, and general IT security.

Learn more about our Cybersecurity Training courses, which include training on other computer skills to find the right solution to your needs for IT skills training. Computer-related skills are a must in today's world, no matter which industry you’re in, so it’s important your team understands the correct, safe, and secure way to use computers within their organization.
