LOS ANGELES – May 3, 2012 – Increasing compliance threats across the United States have prompted Employers Group and Vubiz, two leading providers of training, to partner and create a comprehensive, eight-module eLearning program, designed to instill human resources professionals with the skills and knowledge they need to avoid costly compliance issues. The Human Resources Generalist Certificate, originally created as a California-specific program, offers a new curriculum focused solely on Federal laws and regulations – the only training program of its kind available to employers today. The California version is still offered and popular for California employers.

Designed for both generalists and specialists, the Federal and California programs offer the following courses: Introduction to HR and the Generalist Role, Employment Laws for HR, Termination and Layoffs, Wage and Hour laws, Leaves of Absence, HR’s Role in Selecting Quality Talent, Compensation and Benefits Trends, and HR and Supervisory Communications. Also included with the training comes one-on-one instructor assistance made available through Employers Group’s HR Helpline and access to BNA’s HR Essentials, also through Employers Group. This allows participants to get the assistance they need from experts who are versed in the changing world of human resources compliance.

Jeffrey Hull, Learning Services Director at Employers Group states, "We have seen an increasing trend of unprepared HR staff tackling problems they were not prepared to handle. We wanted to create a program that not only provides the HR content every HR professional needs, but one that also measures proficiency in each module as well as a comprehensive final exam. Offering it in an elearning format allows for consistency, more individuals being able to be trained and, most importantly, convenience. Senior HR and management can now rest easier that proficiency is measured. And, because the content was custom developed, any of the modules can be completely customized to an organization’s specific HR-related policies, procedures and practices."

Each module is available as a stand-alone offering with a proficiency exam or all modules can be purchased and includes a comprehensive final exam. This is the first known elearning suite geared to both California and non-California employers and gives organizations peace of mind that their HR staff has all of the foundational level knowledge to insure their HR compliance and practices are up to date.

Both the California and Federal programs were developed through a collaborative effort of Employers Group and Vubiz. Employers Group provided the HR expertise and training-related content. Vubiz provided not only the elearning platform but the elearning instructional design.
